Join us as we partner with First Christian Church and Truth and Grace for fun and fellowship as we ROAR through the week!

The week will be filled with songs, lessons, crafts and snacks. We will hold a Block Party event on the last evening. Ages ranging from going into Pre-School to going into 6th grade are encouraged to attend!!

Come join us for a far out 60’s night Saturday, April 6th 7:00 -9:00 pm in the worship center! Come decked out in your favorite 60’s outfit.
There will be live music, snacks, and reminiscing. Stay groovy!

Do you ever feel like you recognize the faces of people Sunday mornings and if you’re lucky, remember their names? You aren’t alone! In an effort to help us get to know our church families better, we will set up groups to meet at someone’s home to eat, play games, and enjoy each others company! So, how do you get involved? Sign up! Fill out the sheet below or contact the church office to let us know if you would like to host or would like to attend.
Bingo Night
Please come out on March 29th at 6pm and join us for a Bingo Night! Everyone of any age is welcome!
We will provide you with a night filled with Bingo, games, prizes, and food! Did we mention Bingo?!
Come out and support our two groups going on Missions Trips this year! Our students are going to Memphis and our adults are going to South Africa!
The cost is a donation per card! See you there!
Chili Cook-Off
First UMC’s Hospitality Committee sponsors a Chili Cook-Off every January! Come enjoy some delicious homemade chili and desserts! Ribbons for traditional, spicy, non-traditional, and even desserts. Sign up to enter your chili or dessert by calling the church office (217.235.5676)
Open Mic Night
Come share your family-friendly musical, comedic, and poetic talents at our first open mic January 25th beginning at 6pm in our cozy coffee house worship center. Admission is a $2 or more donation, which is waived for performers. We will offer a cash drink and snack bar which will include coffee, tea, soda, water, and homemade goodies. All proceeds will go to FUMC’s South Africa Mission group to help with the financial obligations of the trip.
Brown’s Auto Sale Fundraiser
Brown’s Auto Sales of Mattoon has made the generous offer to assist in fundraising efforts for the July 2019 South Africa Missions trip!
10% of every Professional Detail will be donated to the mission trip when referred by a mission trip member
$50 will be donated to the mission trip on the completion of a vehicle sale when referred by a mission trip member

A Play in a Manger
Mark your calendars and come spend a fun afternoon with us as Downtown Kids presents this year’s Christmas musical! The production will take place on Sunday, December 16th at 4:00 p.m. in the fellowship hall.
A meal will follow, so bring your appetite!
