United Methodist Women
At Mattoon First, our United Methodist Women’s organization is making a difference in the world….by planning mission programs, raising funds for local, national, and global mission projects, and growing together in fellowship and faith. The local UMW consists of two “Circles”, which are small groups, each with its own focus, that meet monthly. We invite and welcome women of all ages to join hands with us in mission and caring!
- Mary Circle (2nd Mondays of each month at 1:30pm in the afternoon)
- Rebecca Circle (2nd Mondays of each month at 10am in the morning)
Men’s Fellowship
The men of Mattoon First meet at 8:30 am on every second and fourth Saturday at Denny’s in Mattoon, for food, fellowship and growth. We buy our own breakfast and share our thoughts on a topic of relevance every month. The meeting is over by 9:30 am but some men leave earlier as needed. Dress is casual and the atmosphere is inclusive.
Second Wind
For older adults (about 50 and older). The group usually takes a trip to an event or attraction. Travel is usually in the church’s comfortable van.
