Our Congregation’s Core Beliefs

What We Believe

We believe in a living, personal, sovereign God;

That God is revealed in Jesus of Nazareth;

That God is the creator, the sustainer, and the redeemer of the whole cosmos;

That God is most fully known to us in Trinitarian form: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit;

We believe that Jesus is alive: resurrected from the dead;

That Jesus is fully divine and fully human, Son of God, the Human One;

That Jesus saves and that we are invited to make him our Lord and Savior;

We believe that the Holy Spirit is one with the Father and the Son;

That the Holy Spirit enters our lives and world and transforms all;

We believe that the church is the assembly of persons to be the body of Christ;

That we are called to glorify God;

That we are to invite all persons into the fellowship and ways of Jesus Christ;

That we are to promote the edification of believers;

That we are to engage in transforming the world into a place of shalom;

We believe that the Bible is inspired by God and is foundational to abundant living, the Christian life, devotion to God, and service to others;

We believe that the two most important rules for living are to love God with all one’s heart, soul, strength, and mind, and to love one’s neighbor as one’s self.
